THE NURTURY MONTESSORI SCHOOL

The Nurtury is a Montessori School for children from birth to 6 years old. The first Nurtury location opened its doors in the fall of 2007 in New Rochelle, New York and then shortly after in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. The Montessori Schools are owned and operated by a mother-daughters team. Each of these lovely Montessori houses accepts 12-16 children each year in a cozy home-like atmosphere.

The Nurtury is a sanctuary of peace, empathy, and gentleness within our increasingly fast paced society. At the Nurtury children will grow according to their natural pace, sleep when sleepy, wake up when rested, eat when hungry, cry when upset, express feelings, play and explore without being unnecessarily interrupted. In other words, be allowed to grow and blossom as each was meant to.

Cathy Billone, with the encouragement of her two daughters, Brianna and Jenessa, decided to fulfill a lifelong dream of hers to open full day, full year Montessori houses designed just for children 0-6 years old.

Cathy graduated from Hunter College and has her NYS Teaching Certification as well as Montessori Infant, Toddler, and Primary Certification. She has been involved in teaching, training teachers, running classrooms, and running an entire school for over thirty years. She is the founder of The Brendon Montessori School with an enrollment of 200 children from 18 months to 6th grade. She was the Education Director of the Hudson Country Montessori School and has also been a Montessori Consultant and Lecturer for the past 16 years.

Brianna Banahan has a BS from Florida State University and had a very successful career in business in New York City. Her sister, Jenessa Stearns graduated with a Law Degree from the University of Miami. Both girls have been raised as Montessorians and could not fight the desire within them to be Montessori educators themselves. Now they have children of their own, whom have all attended or still attend the Nurtury Montessori School, and as moms they truly believe that they have made the right choice. They are pursuing their Montessori certifications in Administration but bring a lifetime of experience, knowledge, and dedication to this very important work.

Our Goal is to find a perfect match between your family and our Nurtury. We feel we can best serve you by giving you solid information about who we are and what you can expect from us. These enclosed materials are intended to give you an initial sense of what we believe about Montessori and about high quality infant care. We are confident this information will stir up a few thoughts on child development in general and an interest in what we have to offer.
