Toddlers Sitting Together, Daycare, The Nurtury Montessori

Free the child’s potential, and you will transform him into the world.

- Maria Montessori

The Leading Montessori School loyally serving the Westchester, NY and Fort Lauderdale, FL areas since 2007!

Cathy Billone, with the encouragement of her two daughters, Brianna and Jenessa, decided to fulfill a lifelong dream to open Montessori schools specifically designed for children 0-6 years old.

The Nurtury is a sanctuary of peace, empathy and gentleness within our increasingly fast paced society. At the Nurtury, children will grow according to their own natural pace, sleep when sleepy, wake when rested, eat when hungry, cry when upset, express feelings, play and explore without being unnecessarily interrupted. In other words, the child will be allowed to grow and blossom as each was meant to.

Parent Testimonials

Education is the best weapon for peace.

- Maria Montessori

The goal of early childhood education should be to activate the child’s own natural desire to learn.

- Maria Montessori

The Montessori philosophy is a beautiful, expansive, scientific, practical life approach to early childhood education.

Dr. Maria Montessori was the first female medical doctor in Italy within a class of all men. She studied how the human brain developed. From that knowledge, she created the Montessori method for early childhood education. Her approach highlights sensitive periods of learning based on the brain development of the child.

She wrote many wonderful books that explain her studies. However, two of our favorites are The Absorbent Mind and The Science Behind the Genuis.

Based on her studies of brain development and the sensitive periods for the child’s growth, Montessori teacher training is separated into Infant/Toddler (0-3 years) and Early Childhood (3-6 years).

At the Nurtury, we separate it further into three classrooms: Infants (0-18 months); Toddlers (18-36 months) and Primary or Early Childhood (3-6 years).

“Imagination does not become great until human beings, given the strength and courage, use it to create.”
